Karl-Heinz Loof was born 1949 in the small city of St. Michalisdonn, Germany.

Yet going to school he was interested in photography. But at the request of his father, he started working in a bank.

1973 he moved to Düsseldorf. There he found immediatly contact to the local artscene around the Academy of Arts and several professional photographers. For excample, he became friends with artists like Jörg Immendorff and Soulis Moustakidis, students of Joseph Beuys. In this circle he learned nearly everything about the technics and the composition of photographs.

In 1986 he had his first single-exhibition at Düsseldorf, followed until 1998 by several exhibitions at Düsseldorf and Münster - single and together with other artists and photographers.

His photographies can be found in the artcollection oft the "Westdeutsche Landes-Bausparkasse Münster", the cretan Museum "Olivepress" at Dromonero and in several private collections.

In 1998 he bought an old house in the small village of Merada near Kissamos, where he lives steady since 3 years.

In 2013 he had his first exhibition at Crete, in the Fishery-Museum of Kolymbari.

In 2014 he has opened his own Gallery at Merada, 73400 Lousakies-Kissamou.
